Make Your Own Wine in Squamish
Steins & Vines is Squamish's ferment-on-premise winemaking studio, right on the Sea to Sky corridor. You pick a wine kit, start your batch with us in under 30 minutes, and come back a few weeks later to bottle roughly 29 bottles of wine you made yourself. We handle everything in between (fermentation, racking, filtering) so you don't have to. Because you make it yourself on our premises, your batch isn't subject to liquor taxes.
First-timers and experienced winemakers are equally welcome. No appointment needed, just walk in.
How It Works
Your first visit. Come in and pick from our selection of wine kits. We carry everything from bold, oak-aged reds to light, crisp whites. You'll add the ingredients to start fermentation, and we'll walk you through every step. The whole thing takes less than 30 minutes. No experience needed, no appointment required. Just show up.
While you wait. Over the next four to eight weeks (depending on the style), your wine ferments, clears, and filters at our studio. We take care of all of it. You don't need to check in or lift a finger during this stage.
Bottling day. Come back, bottle your wine, and take it home. Each batch yields approximately 29 bottles (750 ml) from 23 litres of wine. Want to add custom labels for a wedding, a housewarming, a retirement gift, or just to make your cellar look sharp? We can do that too.
What's Included
Our maker's fee covers everything beyond the wine kit itself: fermentation monitoring, racking, clarifying, filtering, corks, shrink tops (in a range of colours), all equipment, and full use of the studio. You start your batch, we do the rest, and you show up on bottling day ready to go. Custom labels are available as a separate add-on.
Wine Styles Available
We keep a wide range of kits in stock: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, rosé, dessert wines, and seasonal favourites. Our selection rotates regularly, so ask us what's in right now.
Groups and Special Occasions
The studio works well for group outings: birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, team events. It's hands-on, it's social, and everyone walks away with something they actually made.
We see a lot of wedding parties come through too. Some make wine for their reception tables, others put together custom-labelled bottles as guest favours. And if you're looking for a gift that isn't another gift card, a winemaking experience with personalized bottles at the end tends to go over well. Customers bottle for weddings, engagement parties, retirements, housewarmings — anytime a store-bought bottle doesn't quite fit the moment.
